About the role#
This is a 12-week summer internship for the 2027 program. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers to provide support to the Research and Development group. This role involves participating in the Stage Gate process and gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist mechanical engineers with project planning and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement projects.
- Participate in product design, including design specification and implementation.
- Provide technical support to sales, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and customer service teams.
- Use computer-aided drafting systems to prepare drawings and documentation.
- Create solid computer models to predict material behavior in injection molds and other machines.
- Develop bills of materials, material specifications, and project-specific processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop new products.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate engineering program with at least four semesters completed.
- Solid modeling experience using Solidworks.
- Ability to understand and modify existing mechanical designs.
- Strong analysis skills and experience with Microsoft applications like Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High initiative and the ability to work well in a team.
- Eagerness to work in both production and office settings.
- Finite Element Analysis experience is preferred.
- Experience with the water infrastructure industry is preferred.
