About the role#
The AI Infrastructure Product Design team builds software for engineers and researchers to manage data, execute workflows, and analyze results. As an intern, you will own a specific design project from initial research to final implementation. You will work alongside product managers and software engineers to navigate technical constraints and deliver functional designs. This role requires a balance of visual design skills and technical fluency, including the ability to use large language models and software agents to assist with research, prototyping, and documentation.
What you'll do#
- Lead a focused design project for an internal AI infrastructure product.
- Interview engineers and researchers to map workflows and translate findings into product requirements, user flows, and interaction models.
- Build precise, implementation-ready interface designs and interactive prototypes using Figma and HTML/CSS.
- Test designs with users and refine them based on evidence.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand technical tradeoffs and support your designs through the implementation phase.
- Use large language models and software agents as partners for research synthesis, concept exploration, and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Figma and experience writing HTML/CSS.
- Enough JavaScript knowledge to build or modify interactive prototypes and provide front-end code to engineering.
- A portfolio featuring at least two case studies that demonstrate high standards for visual and interaction design.
- At least one case study must include an interactive or coded prototype.
- Experience conducting user interviews or usability tests and applying findings to design iterations.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Santa Clara, California or New York, New York.
