About the role#
NVIDIA is looking for a researcher to join the programming systems team. You will build tools for parallel computing systems and invent new techniques for parallel algorithms, programming models, and code analysis tools. This role focuses on technology vision for products 5-10 years into the future.
What you'll do#
- Develop algorithms and software that extend the state of the art in parallel computing, machine learning, and data analytics.
- Invent new methodologies and processes to enable new types of products.
- Deliver prototypes, patents, and academic publications.
- Create a technology vision for future products.
- Integrate your research ideas into the NVIDIA accelerated computing platform.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- At least 2 years of relevant industrial or university experience.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, or Rust.
- A track record of research in programming languages, compilers, runtime systems, parallel algorithms, formal verification, or agentic software optimization.
- Published academic papers in your field.
- Experience implementing ideas to run on GPUs.
- Experience building software systems for other developers.
- Expertise in applying programming system insights to machine learning, data science, or distributed computing is preferred.
- Experience using AI to author, optimize, verify, or maintain software is a plus.

- Location: Santa Clara, California.
- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: 38 USD - 94 USD per hour.
- Term: Rolling.
