About the role#
NVIDIA is looking for Ph.D. students to join our research teams focused on large language and multimodal models. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Santa Clara, California. We review applications on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Research and build new methods to advance large language and multimodal models.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external researchers.
- Transfer research findings into product groups to enable new products.
- Produce prototypes, patents, or published research.
- Focus on model efficiency, optimization, and fine-tuning.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Ph.D. program for Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A clear indication of your anticipated graduation date on your resume.
- A strong research background with publications at top conferences.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with large-scale model training is a plus.
- Proficiency in relevant programming skills and technologies, which may include Python, C++, CUDA, or deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow, and JAX.

- Location: Santa Clara, California.

- Compensation: Hourly rate between 38 USD and 94 USD, depending on experience and degree level.
