About the role#
Free People is looking for Print, Craft & Textile Design Interns to join the team for the summer. You will assist in the design and development of seasonal collections, from initial concept to final sample. This role provides a behind-the-scenes look at how the brand brings collections to life through research, sketching, and fabric sourcing.
What you'll do#
- Assist in creating mood boards, color palettes, and seasonal concept presentations.
- Support the design team with sketching, CADs, and technical packages.
- Help source fabrics, trims, and inspiration materials for upcoming collections.
- Organize and maintain sample libraries, swatch books, and design archives.
- Participate in fittings, design reviews, and cross-functional meetings with buying and production teams.
- Conduct trend and market research to support design direction and innovation.
- Assist in preparing line sheets, spec sheets, and internal presentation materials.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Experience with CLO 3D or similar software is a plus.
- Excellent sketching and visual communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a creative environment.

- This internship is based on-site in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time summer position.
