About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Clayton, North Carolina. You will work with the Black Utilities team for ten weeks during the summer of 2027. The role provides hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, focusing on the operation and maintenance of utility systems.
What you'll do#
- Support the daily operation and maintenance of utility systems.
- Manage a portfolio of assigned projects.
- Review existing maintenance plans.
- Assist with mechanical design work and modifications to electrical or utility systems.
- Contribute to team operational and improvement efforts.
- Gain exposure to Lean principles, including root-cause problem solving and visual management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, life science, or a related field.
- Must be a rising junior or rising senior.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to work on-site in Clayton, NC.
