About the role#
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cyber Software Engineer Intern to join the Xetron unit in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role focuses on developing solutions to national security threats. You will work on products that involve kernel development, reverse engineering, and vulnerability research of network and communication systems.
What you'll do#
- Develop software solutions for national security applications.
- Perform kernel development tasks.
- Conduct reverse engineering and vulnerability research on network and communication systems.
- Utilize scripting languages and participate in the software development life cycle.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
- Must be enrolled full-time in Fall 2026.
- Major in STEM with a focus on Computer Science, Cyber Security, Cyber Software, or Systems.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Spring 2027.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and Special Access Program access (U.S. citizenship is required).
- Preferred: Cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher.
- Preferred: Active security clearance.
- Preferred: Experience with debugging, system analysis tools, reverse engineering, and virtual machine technology.
- Preferred: Familiarity with modern source control platforms and CI/CD workflows.
