About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Allen, Texas. You will work on-site to support manufacturing operations, including electronics, software, and electromechanical systems. This role offers exposure to the medical device manufacturing industry and its specific quality and regulatory standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily operations across electronics, software, and service-related systems.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations for production issues, test failures, and software anomalies.
- Contribute to test fixture support, calibration, and protocol execution.
- Help manage engineering change order (ECO) documentation and verification activities.
- Draft and revise technical reports, work instructions, and validation evidence.
- Perform data analysis, yield trending, and failure tracking using Excel or Minitab.
- Participate in design and manufacturing reviews to provide feedback on reliability and testability.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste and improving throughput.
- Follow protocols for ESD safety, cleanroom entry, and regulated manufacturing practices.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Biomedical, Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Interest in electronics assembly, embedded systems, sensor technology, or electromechanical product support.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Preferred: Coursework or project experience related to electronics, software development, or regulated product support.
- Preferred: Exposure to CAD, C programming, scripting, FPGA, VHDL, or data analysis tools.
- Basic understanding of root cause analysis, design controls, or software development lifecycles.
