About the role#
Nordson Medical is looking for an intern to join the Disposables Engineering team in Allen, Texas. This role supports manufacturing processes and engineering projects within a medical device environment. You will work alongside engineers to improve safety, quality, and production efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of validation and qualification protocols including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
- Assist with troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
- Participate in engineering change order (ECO) documentation and test execution.
- Analyze production data and summarize findings in reports.
- Observe root cause analysis and nonconformance investigations.
- Help draft technical documents, validation plans, and troubleshooting guides.
- Learn to apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste.
- Contribute DFM input during design reviews.
- Gain exposure to quality and regulatory standards like FDA QSR and ISO 13485.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in medical device manufacturing.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing or medical device environment is a plus.
- Exposure to SolidWorks or other CAD software is preferred.
- Basic understanding of root cause analysis and engineering documentation.
