About the role#
NJM Insurance Group is seeking an analytical intern to join the I.T. Data Administration team for the Summer 2027 program. You will work on data engineering and analysis tasks while gaining exposure to software configurations and vendor management. This is a paid, part-time, on-site position based in West Trenton, New Jersey.
What you'll do#
- Analyze source repositories and write database queries to retrieve information.
- Build data objects to extract, transform, and load information across the company.
- Create visualizations to provide insights to end users.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis on business requests to determine the best course of action.
- Research new technologies and present potential advantages to the team.
- Document existing external software providers and help enhance business use cases.
- Research vendor features and coordinate technical discussions between internal and external resources.
- Prototype new technologies or additional uses for existing SAS offerings.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL or Python.
- Experience with database technologies like MS SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Databricks, Redshift, or Snowflake.
- Familiarity with reporting software such as Power-BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or DOMO.
- An aptitude for data engineering and analytics.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply new information to your work.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0, with 3.5 or above preferred.

- This role is located on-site in West Trenton, New Jersey.
- You must be commutable to this office.
- The position is part-time for the Summer 2027 term.
- Compensation is $21 to $25 per hour.
