    About the role#

    The Production Engineer Co-op role supports the manufacturing team at the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant. This position involves working directly with engineers to optimize assembly processes, maintain quality standards, and assist in the development of manufacturing components.

    What you'll do#

    • Support Production Engineers in developing assembly sequences and operator work instructions.
    • Create, validate, and maintain Quality Assurance documentation, including fastening torque specifications and electrical connections.
    • Collect and analyze critical measurement point data to track trends and support continuous improvement.
    • Partner with engineering teams to implement production aids and equipment designed to improve safety, quality, and ergonomics.
    • Assist with technical drawing, 3D modeling, prototyping, and the creation of 3D-printed components.
    • Participate in Virtual Reality CAD studies to evaluate equipment layouts and manufacturing processes.
    • Support part and process change management during production trials and model launches.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Academic standing of Sophomore level or higher.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

    • This position is based on-site at the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant in Smyrna, Tennessee.
    • This is a paid, full-time rolling co-op position.
