About the role#
The Engineering Intern works with our Engineering, Operations, and Service teams to support technical analysis, equipment inspections, and process improvement projects. You will gain practical experience in cryogenic pump technology, rotating machinery, and industrial repair operations. This role involves working in both office and workshop environments at our Tomball facility.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with technical evaluations, inspections, and troubleshooting of cryogenic pumps.
- Support the review of equipment arriving at the service center for repair or overhaul.
- Collect and analyze technical equipment data, including creating spreadsheets and charts.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and manuals.
- Update inspection reports, repair documentation, and technical procedures.
- Support root-cause analysis for equipment performance issues.
- Perform dimensional inspections and component verification using specialized tools.
- Collaborate with technicians to understand repair processes and field service requirements.
- Participate in project discussions with Quality and Operations personnel.
- Identify opportunities to improve service center workflows, safety, and efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering. Junior or Senior standing is preferred, though graduate students are welcome to apply.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Interest in hands-on engineering and industrial equipment.
- Ability to learn new technical systems and processes quickly.
- Previous experience in a lab, manufacturing, or internship setting is a plus.
- Familiarity with CAD software is helpful but not required.
- Comfortable working in an industrial service center environment, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
