About the role#
This Purchasing Co-op position supports Global Supply Management activities at Nexteer Automotive. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional environment while applying your classroom knowledge to real-world tasks.
What you'll do#
- Process service invoices by sending them for approval, printing, and scanning.
- Manage vendor records, including new setups and updates to banking or address information.
- Onboard new suppliers by collecting and filing necessary documentation.
- Train suppliers on how to use the Nexteer supplier portal.
- Support the purchasing team by sending items for quote and providing quote recaps.
- Perform weekly purchase order confirmations and assist buyers with various projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 2-year or 4-year college or university local to Saginaw.
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
- Status as a full-time student with at least 12 credits during Fall and Winter semesters.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, and SQL.
- Strong communication and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

- This role is located in Saginaw, Michigan.
- The position is on-site.
- You must be able to work 20-32 hours per week during Fall and Winter semesters.
- You may work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
