About the role#
Nearby.ai is a home services platform that connects homeowners with local service providers. We are looking for a motivated intern to help grow our merchant network through local business outreach and partnership development. This is a paid, part-time position that offers hands-on experience in business development at an early-stage company.
What you'll do#
- Research and identify local home service businesses, such as plumbers, electricians, cleaners, and landscapers, as potential partners.
- Reach out to local merchants via phone, email, in-person visits, and social media to introduce the platform and onboard them.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective partners using CRM tools or spreadsheets.
- Assist in crafting outreach scripts, pitch decks, and partnership proposals.
- Collect merchant feedback to help the team improve our value proposition and onboarding process.
- Track outreach metrics including contacts made, response rates, and conversion rates, and report progress weekly.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with comfort in cold outreach.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and manage your own schedule.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple conversations at once.
- An interest in startups, local commerce, or the home services industry.
Location & details#
- This role is remote with occasional local fieldwork.
- The position is part-time, requiring 10 to 20 hours per week.
- The internship duration is 3 to 6 months with a rolling start date.
- Compensation is $18 to $22 per hour.
