The Foreclosure Prevention Project provides legal representation and community education for homeowners facing foreclosure and other risks to homeownership. Interns assist with foreclosure defense litigation, deed transfers, real estate contracts, and short sale applications. This is a paid, full-time internship for Fall 2026.
What you'll do#
- Conduct intakes to assess potential client eligibility.
- Draft motions and assist with the service of documents.
- Participate in settlement conferences and court appearances.
- Conduct in-depth legal research.
- Assess and assemble mortgage modification and homeowner program applications.
- Perform data entry tasks.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current law student. Undergraduate applications will not be considered.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Superior oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong commitment to public interest law.
- Professional presence and demeanor.
- Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
