About the role#
Neuralink is looking for an IT Systems Administrator Intern to support our corporate environment. You will act as a primary point of contact for technical support, handling daily tickets and assisting with user lifecycle management. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside full-time IT Systems Administrators on infrastructure projects and systems maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Provide T1 and T2 Helpdesk support by triaging and resolving tickets across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- Manage device imaging, configuration, and deployment for new hires.
- Handle user onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Troubleshoot L1 and L2 connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and VPN problems.
- Maintain hardware asset inventory and documentation.
- Support conference room AV equipment, including displays and audio hardware.
- Create and update Helpdesk documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with the team on broader projects related to endpoint management and SaaS administration.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of macOS, Windows, or Linux operating systems.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support a diverse user base.
- A proactive approach to learning and collaborating with the team.
- Experience in IT support or customer-facing technical roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with MDM platforms like Jamf, Intune, or Kandji is preferred.
- Experience with Google Workspace, Slack, or Zoom administration is preferred.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell is preferred.
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts, such as SSO and MFA, is preferred.
- Awareness of data privacy best practices or experience in a regulated environment is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship position.
- Locations: Austin, Texas and South San Francisco, California.
- The term is rolling.
- This position is paid at an hourly rate of $25 per hour.
