Respiratory Therapy - Co-Op

About the role#

This co-op position provides an introduction to the respiratory therapy field within a pediatric healthcare setting. Students will gain practical experience by supporting healthcare professionals in high-acuity environments while learning essential department operations under direct supervision.

What you'll do#

• Assist licensed respiratory therapists with tasks such as gathering equipment for procedures and setting up ventilators, high-flow nasal cannulas, and oxygen equipment.
• Perform disinfection and sterilization procedures following established infection control and equipment policies.
• Manage inventory for both disposable and non-disposable supplies, including tracking usage and ordering necessary items.
• Conduct operational checks and preventive maintenance on non-disposable equipment, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Deliver supplies and equipment to patient care areas as scheduled or requested.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a high school healthcare-focused employment or training track.
• Ability to work under the direct supervision of licensed respiratory therapists.
• Commitment to exhibiting behaviors aligned with organizational standards and core competencies.
