About the role#
The National Health Law Program is seeking a Mission Advancement Team intern for the summer of 2027. This role supports the team responsible for communications, fundraising, and knowledge management. You will help secure the resources and visibility necessary to advance our mission of protecting health rights for low-income and underserved populations. While the position is remote, you will collaborate closely with staff based in our Washington, DC office.
What you'll do#
- Research new foundation prospects and create brief funder profiles.
- Draft and edit sections of reports and grant proposals.
- Proofread materials to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Assist with grants management, including organizing files, tracking data, and preparing attachments.
- Help manage pass-through funding.
- Support the Individual Giving team with various tasks.
- Assist with creative graphic design projects.
- Collect and edit stories for organizational use.
- Draft copy for social media, newsletters, and press releases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising junior or senior in an undergraduate program related to Health Policy, Public Policy, Government, Communications, or Business Administration.
- A demonstrated commitment to protecting health care access for underserved populations.
- Experience or interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across the organization.
- A detail-oriented approach and effective listening skills.
Location & details#
- This is a fully remote, paid internship.
- The term lasts for 10 weeks.
- The commitment is 37.5 hours per week.
