About the role#
Narda-MITEQ is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our design team. You will support the development of mechanical components and assemblies by creating technical documentation and models. This role provides hands-on experience with the product development lifecycle and manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Create and modify 2D engineering drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Develop 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assembly documentation.
- Update CAD models and drawings to reflect engineering change notifications (ECNs).
- Ensure all work complies with company drafting standards, GD&T practices, and manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain CAD files and documentation within our Product Data Management (PDM) system.
- Assist with additional engineering and design tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Coursework or practical experience with 3D or 2D CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and sheet metal or machined part design.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and PDM/PLM systems like Autodesk Vault or SOLIDWORKS PDM.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new design methods.
