About the role#
As an Engineering Intern, you will work alongside the Operations Manager and the broader operations team. This role focuses on gaining hands-on manufacturing experience while applying engineering principles to specific projects. You will report directly to the Operations Manager.
What you'll do#
- Use SolidWorks CAD to build 3D part and assembly models.
- Create documentation, including part drawings, BOMs, set-up sheets, and work instructions.
- Improve processes for the Handle Manufacturing Cell by developing fixtures, jigs, and tooling.
- Support Engineering and QC teams with the Raw Material Identification System.
- Assist with Engineering Master and Work Order changes.
- Design shop drawings for internal parts, tooling, and resale items.
- Gather data on process metrics like labor hours, machine usage, and maintenance schedules to generate reports.
- Help procure and verify weekly WIP data reports using Visual ERP.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's program for mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office systems.
- Ability to work independently and follow direction.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate within a group.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- A desire to learn from various departments.
