    About the role#

    The Tool and Die Intern will work to precise tolerances to build stamping and forming dies. These tools are used to manufacture springs and Bellevilles. You will report to the Engineering Manager.

    What you'll do#

    • Plan sequences of operations by studying blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications.
    • Fit and assemble parts to create dies and tools using machine and hand tools.
    • Set up and operate machine tools like lathes, milling machines, and grinders to shape parts.
    • Use drill presses to drill and tap holes for assembly.
    • Smooth and polish surfaces using files, abrasive stones, scrapers, or grinders.
    • Inspect finished dies for defects and contour conformity.
    • Verify dimensions, clearances, and alignments using measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauge blocks.

    What you'll need#

    • A High School Diploma.
    • 1-2 years of relevant experience from a Technical High School.
    • Mechanical inclination.
    • Proficiency in mathematics.
    • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.
    • Ability to work to close tolerances.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    • This position is based in Baltimore, Maryland.
    • This is an on-site, part-time internship.
    • The role is paid at $15.00 per hour.
