About the role#
This summer internship focuses on processing operations. You will evaluate ways to reduce water usage and packaging waste at the Siler City facility. You will work with the Processing, Engineering, and Operations teams to find inefficiencies and suggest improvements that support cost savings and environmental stewardship.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data on water consumption and packaging waste.
- Evaluate processing and packaging operations to improve efficiency.
- Develop and present data-driven recommendations to your department mentor.
- Attend a weekly seminar series held at various company facilities.
- Complete a mid-way evaluation and a final project evaluation.
- Travel to Delaware during the final week of the program to deliver a 10-minute presentation on your project.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agribusiness, or a related field.
- Interest in poultry processing and manufacturing operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to collect and organize data to support process improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
- A strong work ethic shown through academics, leadership, or past employment.
