About the role#
This internship supports Hatchery Operations by evaluating incubation methods and their impact on performance metrics. You will work with the Hatchery and Live Operations teams to collect data, assess performance, and find ways to improve operational efficiency. Your project will focus on how incubation practices influence hatchability, chick quality, and flock performance.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate different incubation methods and their impact on key performance metrics.
- Collect and analyze hatchery data to identify trends and support decision-making.
- Assess the return on investment for incubation equipment.
- Collaborate with teams to identify best practices for bird health and outcomes.
- Develop and present recommendations to improve hatchery performance.
- Complete tasks assigned by your mentor, attend a seminar series, and deliver a project presentation at the end of the summer.
- Complete evaluations at week 5 and week 10.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Poultry Science degree program.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage your responsibilities.

- Location: Siler City, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Travel: You must be available to travel to Delaware for final presentations during the week of August 2-6, 2027.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
