About the role#
Effective supply chain management is essential to ensuring patients receive the right medication at the right time. As a Pharmacy Supply Chain Intern, you will report to the Manager of MSHS Pharmacy Supply Chain. You will support process improvements and strategic initiatives focused on the procurement and inventory planning of medications across the health system.
What you'll do#
- Support the Inventory Planning and Procurement team with medication replenishment across the system.
- Assist in deploying inventory management practices to ensure drug availability in a cost-efficient manner.
- Conduct data analytics and reporting to generate insights for supply chain performance improvement.
- Research and benchmark best practices in pharmacy supply chain optimization.
- Participate in the ideation, deployment, and implementation of system supply chain initiatives.
- Analyze data to develop core metrics and reports for performance measurement.
- Assess and improve procure-to-pay and inventory management workflows.
- Focus on key areas including medication shortage mitigation, pharmacy stockroom automation, pharmaceutical contracting, and product lifecycle management.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to use database software.
- Preferred knowledge of inventory management software.
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence outcomes.
