About the role#
The Pharmacy Supply Chain Intern supports the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) Inventory Planning & Procurement team. This role focuses on optimizing the replenishment of medications across the system to ensure drug availability in a cost-efficient manner. You will contribute to strategic initiatives, process improvements, and the daily management of pharmacy supply chain operations.
What you'll do#
- Support the deployment of inventory management practices.
- Perform data analytics and reporting to generate insights for supply chain performance improvement.
- Research and benchmark best practices in pharmacy supply chain optimization.
- Participate in the ideation, deployment, and implementation of system supply chain initiatives.
- Assist with the mitigation of medication shortages using technology and predictive ordering.
- Support automation in pharmacy stockroom inventory management and pharmaceutical contracting activities.
- Assess and improve procure-to-pay and inventory management workflows.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Strong critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and database software.
- Preferred knowledge of inventory management software.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
