About the role#
As a Transitions of Care Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist or manager. This role involves obtaining clinical and prescription coverage information for new patients and reviewing prescriptions. You are responsible for maintaining compliance with all division, corporate, and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do#
- Communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Manage projects and solve business problems using analytical and conceptual skills.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining self-motivated and accountable.
- Use computer software including pharmacy systems, electronic health records, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Work in a community pharmacy within an institutional setting alongside a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacology, medication management, and pharmacy law.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software and electronic health records.

- Location: Knoxville, Tennessee.
- Schedule: This is an on-site, part-time position requiring 10 to 20 hours per week.
- Flexibility: You must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
