    About the role#

    As a Strategic Project Intern, you will support operational excellence initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality. You will work alongside Continuous Improvement and Operations teams to analyze data, identify process improvements, and implement solutions that create measurable business value. You will gain hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and digital transformation initiatives while exploring applications for AI and Microsoft Copilot in a manufacturing environment.

    What you'll do#

    • Support Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence projects.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
    • Collect, organize, and analyze operational, quality, and process data.
    • Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support decision making.
    • Evaluate existing workflows to simplify, standardize, and improve processes.
    • Participate in problem-solving activities, Kaizen events, and process improvement workshops.
    • Develop and document process flows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
    • Assist in integrating process documentation into digital platforms.
    • Explore opportunities to leverage AI and Microsoft Copilot solutions.
    • Track project metrics and present findings, recommendations, and business impact to leadership.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM-related field including Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Coursework or project experience in statistics, data analysis, operations management, or business analytics is preferred.
    • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process mapping is preferred.
    • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is preferred.

    • Location: Friendly, West Virginia.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site, full-time.
    • Eligibility: Must be actively enrolled in a degree program and remain enrolled for at least one academic semester following the internship.
