About the role#
The Microelectronics Laboratory is looking for an undergraduate student to join the team as a Microfab Industrial Engineering Co-Op. You will work on-site in Lexington, Massachusetts, to improve operational efficiencies within a wafer fabrication facility. This role is open for the Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
You will apply engineering principles to optimize systems, processes, and operations. Your work will involve several key areas:
- Improving manufacturing execution systems
- Conducting workflow analysis
- Developing metrics and information systems
- Designing visual systems
- Optimizing general operations
What you'll need#
You should be pursuing an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering, computer science, systems engineering, operations research, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, management science, human factors engineering, logistics engineering, quality engineering, or information technology.
Additional requirements include:
- Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment
- Enthusiasm for solving problems and working in a team
- US citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance
Location & details#
This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Lexington, Massachusetts. Please note that this role requires the ability to obtain a security clearance.
