About the role#
The IT Infrastructure Intern will work with the Infrastructure Department on recurring tasks and special projects. You will gain hands-on exposure to enterprise infrastructure, including networking, servers, cloud technologies, security, storage, and backup systems. This role is based in Effingham, Illinois, and requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Assist with hardware replacement, configuration, server maintenance, and patching.
- Support technology refresh initiatives and lifecycle modernization projects.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and inventory records.
- Help with scripting and automation efforts to improve routine task efficiency.
- Shadow Infrastructure team members and collaborate with other IT teams and business units.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field with at least two years of coursework completed.
- Basic understanding of networking, servers, and operating systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Familiarity with PowerShell or Python is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Effingham, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (mid-May through early August).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Compensation: $18 per hour.
