About the role#
The Commercial Banking Intern will support the St. Louis Commercial Banking team with research, analysis, and special projects. This role provides exposure to commercial lending, relationship management, and the banking industry. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What you'll do#
- Conduct competitive market analysis to support growth initiatives.
- Assist with data mining, data cleansing, and analysis for business development.
- Support special projects and offer new perspectives on opportunities.
- Gain exposure to commercial credit structuring, underwriting, relationship management, and Treasury solutions.
- Observe retail transactions, operations, and risk and compliance processes.
- Attend team meetings and join team members on external calls.
- Engage with professionals across the bank to learn about company strategy and banking fundamentals.
- Maintain compliance with regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university degree program with at least two years completed.
- Coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Relevant coursework in Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or Sales is welcome.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Teams.
- Ability to learn and use new software and programs.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership or community involvement.
- Ability to articulate an interest in banking and commercial banking.
- A collaborative approach to working in a team environment.

- Term: Summer 2027 (mid-May to early August).
- Compensation: $18 per hour.
- Status: Full-time internship.
- Residency: Must reside locally in the St. Louis area.
