About the role#
The Finance Intern will support the Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis teams. This position provides exposure to corporate finance within the banking industry through recurring accounting tasks, financial reporting, and special projects. This is a paid, full-time internship for the Summer of 2027, running from mid-May through early August.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily accounting functions and account reconciliations.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Participate in quarterly financial reporting processes.
- Support finance-related system implementations and process improvement initiatives.
- Complete special projects to support the Finance department.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Accounting, Finance, or related business degree program with at least two years of college completed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Must reside local to the Effingham, IL area.
Location & details#
- Location: Effingham, IL (On-site).
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (40 hours per week).
- Rate of Pay: $18 per hour.
