About the role#
The Enterprise Risk Management Intern supports the department with recurring responsibilities and special projects. You will contribute to the Bank's operational risk framework, governance processes, and enterprise-wide risk reporting. This position provides exposure to banking operations, internal controls, and regulatory expectations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with developing and updating enterprise process maps and risk and control documentation.
- Support operational risk assessments.
- Analyze Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), operational risk events, and related risk data.
- Prepare enterprise risk reporting and governance documentation.
- Contribute to projects focused on governance, third-party risk, business continuity, process improvement, and change management.
- Collaborate with Risk team members and business partners across the bank.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 2 years of undergraduate study.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Teams.
- Ability to learn and use new software and programs.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Interest in banking, internal controls, audit, or regulatory compliance is preferred.
- Proficiency in AI tools or chat models is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located in St. Louis, Missouri.
- The term runs for Summer 2027, from mid-May through early August.
- You must be available to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- This role is on-site.
