About the role#
Michael Baker International is seeking a Civil Intern to join the Surface Transportation team in Columbia, South Carolina. This is a paid, full-time internship opportunity. You will work under the direction of Project Engineers and Project Managers to support various infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Generate design calculations, technical reports, and discipline-specific construction plans.
- Prepare technical specifications and cost estimates.
- Assist with construction inspection activities under the guidance of a Construction Manager.
- Document field activities, research solutions to site problems, and ensure project conformance to plans and specifications.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing project obligations.
- Knowledge or experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is preferred.
- Capacity to learn new skills and work effectively with others.
