About the role#
The Project Management Intern will train across plant operations, field work, and project management. You will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes and project oversight from start to finish. This role provides exposure to real-world management practices with daily support from an assigned mentor.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to plant operations including production, steel fabrication, material handling, quality control, and the carpentry shop.
- Participate in project site visits to observe the erection process.
- Assist in project planning by developing schedules and timelines.
- Follow all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Science Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with project management software is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to demonstrate safe working behaviors.
Location & details#
- Location: San Marcos, Texas.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Work Modality: On-site in both plant and office environments.
- This is a paid internship.
