About the role#
The Project Management Intern will train across plant and field operations to build a foundation in project management. You will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes and the erection of structures. You will work under the guidance of an assigned mentor to develop skills for managing projects from start to finish. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to plant operations, including production, steel fabrication, material handling, quality control, and the carpentry shop.
- Participate in project site visits to observe the erection process.
- Assist in project planning through the development of schedules and timelines.
- Adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Science Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes.
- Experience with project management software like Microsoft Project, Asana, or Trello is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Winchester, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm (hours may vary during production training).
- Work Environment: This role requires time in both office and plant environments. The plant area is not climate-controlled and involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 75 lbs, and climbing stairs.
