About the role#
The Project Management Intern trains across plant and field operations to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will work with a mentor to understand the manufacturing process and project management practices from start to finish. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling schedule.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to plant operations, including production, steel fabrication, material handling, quality control, and the carpentry shop.
- Visit project sites to observe and understand the erection process.
- Help with project planning by developing schedules and timelines.
- Follow all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations at all times.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Science Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with project management software like Microsoft Project, Asana, or Trello is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site at the Greenville, South Carolina office.
- The work environment includes both office and plant settings.
- Plant areas are not climate-controlled and may involve exposure to various weather conditions.
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods, lifting up to 75 lbs, and climbing stairs.
