About the role#
Metalsa is looking for an EHS Safety Co-Op to join our team in Hopkinsville. This role provides hands-on experience in manufacturing safety. You will assist with safety process improvements, support training, and work with the EHS team to maintain a safe, productive environment.
What you'll do#
- Validate current safety processes to ensure productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Document, communicate, and conduct training on process improvements.
- Analyze best practices and develop safety processes to meet plant objectives through problem solving.
- Assist the safety team with operations improvements and special projects.
- Help the team train new hires and skilled trades.
- Work safely, report unsafe conditions immediately, and use our innovation process to improve plant safety.
What you'll need#
- At least 2 years of undergraduate studies towards a Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Skills in problem solving, planning, and driving results.
