About the role#
The Clinical Nursing Student role provides direct patient care at the Springfield Regional Medical Center Med Surg Unit. This position offers clinical experience and exposure through job shadowing and the provision of care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This is a PRN, on-site position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Support the nurse in the application of the nursing process.
- Record vital signs and perform basic patient care, including hygiene, mobility assistance, and nutrition support.
- Provide high-level customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
- Participate in patient data collection and documentation.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and the nursing team.
- Escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
- Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a nursing program.
- Completion of at least one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.
- Ability to communicate clearly with the healthcare team.
- Knowledge of patient safety standards, infection prevention, and healthcare regulations.
