About the role#
Mercy Health is hiring a Clinical Nursing Student for the Med Surg Unit at Springfield Regional Medical Center. This role provides clinical experience and exposure to nursing practice through job shadowing and direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This is a PRN position.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Record vital signs and participate in patient data collection.
- Assist patients with personal care, hygiene, and mobility activities of daily living.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and the nurse to report changes or concerns.
- Participate in hand-off reports regarding patient and departmental needs.
- Develop critical thinking skills through collaboration with the nursing team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a nursing program.
- Completion of at least one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate clearly with the healthcare team.
- Knowledge of patient safety standards and infection prevention.
