About the role#
MedRhythms, Inc. is seeking a Neurologic Music Therapist for a clinical internship at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. This role focuses on the intersection of music, neuroscience, and technology to support neuro-recovery. You will gain experience across the healthcare continuum, including inpatient, outpatient, in-home, and telehealth settings.
What you'll do#
- Complete 1040 hours of training, with approximately 900 hours dedicated to direct clinical care.
- Develop a foundational understanding of neurologic populations, NMT research, neuroanatomy, and the neuroscience of music.
- Build working relationships with other medical disciplines, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and nursing.
- Observe and facilitate co-treatment, individual, and group sessions using NMT interventions.
- Create treatment plans and establish goals and objectives for patients.
- Complete documentation for all clinical sessions provided.
- Attend supervision sessions and conduct an in-service presentation regarding NMT.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a degree in Music Therapy.
- Strong clinical skills in administering NMT interventions.
- Ability to be flexible and work in a busy environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- High levels of self-motivation, grit, and energy.
