About the role#
MedRhythms, Inc. is offering a Neurologic Music Therapist clinical internship in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term. The role is hybrid and focuses on providing neurologic music therapy to support neuro-recovery and brain plasticity.
What you'll do#
- Complete 1040 hours of internship, including approximately 900 hours of direct clinical care.
- Develop a foundational understanding of neurologic populations, NMT research, neuroanatomy, and the neuroscience of music.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and medical staff.
- Observe and facilitate co-treatment, individual, and group sessions using NMT interventions.
- Develop patient treatment plans and establish specific goals and objectives.
- Complete documentation for all clinical sessions provided.
- Increase knowledge of standardized assessments and measure patient progress.
- Communicate the benefits of NMT to patients, families, and clinical staff.
- Attend supervision sessions and conduct an in-service presentation regarding NMT.
