About the role#
MedRhythms is seeking a clinical intern to join our therapy team in White Plains, New York. This role focuses on neurologic music therapy and the use of music to aid in neuro-recovery. You will gain experience across our clinical practice while working toward your degree.
What you'll do#
- Complete 1040 hours of internship, including approximately 900 hours of direct clinical care.
- Develop a working understanding of neurologic populations, neuroanatomy, and the neuroscience of music.
- Build professional relationships with other disciplines, such as physical therapy, nursing, and speech pathology.
- Observe and facilitate individual and group sessions using NMT interventions.
- Create treatment plans and establish goals for patients.
- Communicate the benefits of NMT to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Document all clinical sessions and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Attend supervision sessions and conduct an in-service presentation about NMT.

- Enrollment in a degree program for Music Therapy.
- Strong clinical skills in administering NMT interventions.
- Ability to work with flexibility.
- Strong communication skills.
