About the role#
We are looking for an Engineering Student to join our Industrialization department in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. You will work under the supervision of the Production Manager and collaborate with our team of AI&T Engineers and Technologists. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will assist with planning and improvement activities for the industrialization of antenna and satellite products.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and review AI&T processes, including PFMEA, risk identification, and production cell performance metrics.
- Suggest and implement new technologies such as robots, vision systems, quality control tools, and preventive maintenance systems.
- Participate in the specification, design, installation, and deployment of new tooling.
- Lead design for manufacturing (DFM) activities, including workshops and reviews of flight hardware.
- Define and maintain manufacturing process specifications, equipment operating procedures, and functional flows.
- Participate in program reviews such as Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, and Manufacturing Readiness Review.
- Represent the production team during ERBs and MRBs.
- Provide support to production teams after start-up.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a bachelor degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering, with at least two years completed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Proficiency in both French and English for written and oral communication.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for metallic components and composite materials, such as machining, additive manufacturing, and surface treatments.
- A proactive approach to taking ownership of tasks and projects, combined with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
- An interest in aerospace and the challenges of the space environment.
- Desirable skills include knowledge of satellite subsystems, electronics manufacturing, GD&T, metrology, and programming languages like Python or VBA.
