About the role#
McGill Associates, PA offers an internship program for students to apply classroom theory to professional civil engineering projects. What you'll do#
- Draft and design site layouts, grading plans, and earthwork calculations.
- Coordinate utility routing, storm drainage, and stormwater management systems.
- Assist with water and wastewater treatment plant design and linear design for water and sewer lines.
- Prepare permitting documents, design reports, and construction plans.
- Support the construction administration process by reviewing contractor shop drawings and resolving installation issues.
- Conduct field inspections, test utility systems, and document existing site features.
- Help prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and specifications.
- Document design changes and assist managers with ad hoc projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related degree program.
- Preference is given to rising Juniors and Seniors.
- Experience using AutoCAD, with Civil 3D skills preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- A valid driver's license.
