About the role#
Mathnasium is hiring a Pre-K Teaching Intern to provide temporary coverage during a maternity leave. This position offers hands-on experience in early childhood education and exposure to our specific teaching methods and curriculum. You will work in a structured environment to help young learners build foundational math and problem-solving skills.
What you'll do#
- Work with Pre-K students in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Deliver the Mathnasium curriculum using age-appropriate and engaging methods.
- Support students as they develop early math and problem-solving abilities.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging environment for all learners.
- Help with classroom management and transitions between activities.
- Communicate student progress to lead instructors.
What you'll need#
- An interest in early childhood education or a related field.
- Experience working with young children, such as Pre-K or early elementary students.
- A background in education, child development, or a similar area.
- Ability to engage young learners through interactive or play-based methods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Familiarity with basic math concepts for early learners.
Location & details#
- Location: Wood-Ridge, New Jersey.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: This is a part-time, paid position. We require availability at least 4 days per week during our operational hours, which are Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- Term: This is a temporary role covering a maternity leave with a defined start and end date.
