About the role#
As a Teacher Fellow at Ambition Preparatory Charter School, you will work alongside lead teachers to support academic and character development for students in grades K-12. This role is designed to help you build professional skills in preparation for future lead classroom positions while contributing to the culture and legacy of the school.
What you'll do#
- Assist the lead teacher with preparing and delivering daily instructional activities.
- Work with small groups of students to reinforce skills and support academic progress.
- Use assessment data to identify student needs and provide appropriate intervention or enrichment.
- Maintain a productive, safe, and orderly learning environment by upholding school conduct expectations and consistent routines.
- Communicate with families and community partners to build positive relationships.
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and staff committees to support school operations.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with under-resourced communities, families, or students.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills for interacting with all levels of management.
- Ability to pass a background check in compliance with state law.
- Majors in Psychology, Communications, Sociology, Political Science, or Public Health are relevant to this role.
