About the role#
Pinon Unified School District is seeking an Exceptional Student Services Teacher for a self-contained classroom. This position focuses on providing instruction and support to students with exceptional needs, working alongside faculty and staff to foster academic and personal growth in a supportive learning environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with exceptional needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of behavior modification plans.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation regarding student progress and services provided.
- Collaborate with families and community agencies to support student achievement and well-being.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in required professional development activities.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in education, special education, or a related field.
- Valid Arizona teaching certificate with endorsements in exceptional student services.
- Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing special education.
- Prior experience working with students with a variety of exceptionalities and disabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other teachers, staff, and families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing student needs and situations.
