About the role#
William Charles Construction, part of the MasTec Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group, is hiring Field Engineer Interns for a project in New Albany, Indiana. You will support the Project Manager and Construction Manager with daily site operations, project documentation, and estimating tasks.
What you'll do#
- Perform field survey work for site layout and track work activities using GPS equipment and PC software.
- Assist with quality control records, project audits, and site inspections.
- Manage material inventory and receiving paperwork.
- Support the RFI submittal process and assist with subcontractor scheduling.
- Help prepare for job closeout, including as-builts and project binders.
- Take on other duties as assigned by the project team.
- Note that this role requires extended work hours and weekend work.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Safety and Health, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completed at least 24 college credit hours and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- A basic understanding of construction industry practices.
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to dirt, heat, and noise.
- Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a willingness to learn.
- Capability to solve problems and meet project deadlines.

- Travel: 100% project-specific travel is required.

- Compensation: $18 to $21 per hour.
