About the role#
MasTec is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to support our project team in Indianapolis. You will report to the Project Manager and Construction Manager, assisting with the implementation of quality plans, site plans, and material management. This is an on-site, full-time internship position.
What you'll do#
- Perform field survey work, including layout and tracking of activities using PC software and GPS equipment.
- Manage project quality control records and ensure reporting requirements are met.
- Coordinate and document project audits and inspections.
- Handle material inventory and receiving paperwork.
- Assist with final job closeout, including as-builts and job binder creation.
- Support subcontractor scheduling and management.
- Process RFI submittals.
- Note that extended work hours and weekends may be required.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Safety and Health, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of at least 24 college credits.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- A basic understanding of the construction industry and business practices.
- Ability to work in environments with dirt, heat, and noise.
- Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and clear communication.

- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- This role requires 100% project-specific travel.
- This is a paid, temporary position without company benefits.
