About the role#
Marquette Transportation Company is hiring a Safety Training & Development Intern for the summer of 2027. This paid, full-time role is based on-site in Paducah, Kentucky. You will work with the Safety & Training team to support programs for our vessel and shore-based employees.
What you'll do#
- Help develop, implement, and update training content to reflect current safety procedures and industry practices.
- Track employee training progress, certifications, and evaluations to maintain compliance.
- Provide administrative support for training initiatives, such as scheduling sessions, preparing materials, and managing databases.
- Research regulatory updates and industry trends.
- Gather participant feedback and compile reports to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
- Take on additional duties and projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor degree in Business, Safety, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and present data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness to learn new software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence in public speaking and the ability to work well within a team.
- A genuine interest in developing skills in safety and employee development.

- This internship is located in Paducah, Kentucky.
- The term runs from mid-May 2027 through early August 2027, with some flexibility on dates.
- This is a paid, on-site position.
