About the role#
This internship offers a hands-on, cross-functional look at IT support and service delivery. You will work in both a traditional office environment and in the field on-board river towboats. You will gain experience in infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and end-user support while working alongside our team on active projects.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support to office and vessel-based employees by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues using a ticketing system and RMM tools.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment including computers, monitors, printers, and networking devices.
- Travel to and work aboard river towboats to assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of onboard IT and communications equipment.
- Configure and support next-generation networking devices for our vessels.
- Assist with other IT projects and initiatives as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in IT or a related field.
- A positive, customer-focused mindset and a desire for hands-on learning.
- Previous experience in a physical or hands-on work environment.
- Competency with computers, operating systems, and common software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A valid driver license and a clean driving record.
- A willingness to travel and board vessels, including working in non-traditional settings like towboats and dockside facilities.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Paducah, Kentucky.
- The internship term is for Summer 2027.
