About the role#
The Asset Management team keeps our fleet of over 130 tow and tugboats safe, reliable, and cost-effective. You will work within this department to analyze maintenance and repair history for our propulsion equipment. This role involves turning data into insights, which you will present to senior management to help guide capital investment decisions.
What you'll do#
- Compile repair history and costs for propulsion drives, engines, and generators from our work-order system.
- Compare repair costs, equipment downtime, and fuel usage across different vessels.
- Clean and standardize maintenance data to improve reporting quality.
- Build a return-on-investment analysis to support upcoming capital decisions.
- Assist with project tasks like scoping repairs, reviewing shipyard invoices, and tracking project schedules.
- Collaborate with the engineering team and shipyard project managers on active repair projects.
- Visit vessels to observe how equipment is used in daily operations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, specifically with pivot tables and data filtering.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects with minimal direction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on detail.
- Ability to work on vessels and in shipyards while wearing required PPE. This includes climbing ladders and working in tight spaces, at heights, and outdoors.
